ETHIOPIA
'Ethiopia needs quality to remain completive'

Published: 14-NOV-06

Addis Ababa Ethiopian manufactures would need to increase the quality of their goods if they were to win back domestic market share lost to imported goods, said the Ethiopian Quality and Standard Authority director general on Monday.

Mesay Girma said that quality was necessary to ensure that locally produced goods remained competitive, both in domestic and global markets.

Girma added that industries would cease to exist if they did not continuously focus on improving quality as they would be stifled under increasingly stiff global competition. -Business in Africa Online
