Malcolm Hewitt is Managing Director of Barclays Bank PLC, sub-Saharan Africa and Indian Ocean. He leads 7 000 people in nine countries serving customers in the retail and corporate sectors.

His experience at Managing Director level includes a number of commercial organisations in the UK, Europe (including Russia), the Middle East and Africa, in the banking, retail, FMCG, and transport and leisure/hospitality sectors.

Mr Hewitt specialises in transforming business performance and creating cultures of high morale and customer service excellence.
