Dr Namane Magau is President of the Businesswomen's Association of South Africa. She was a member of the executive team at the SABC as Director of group human capital services. She is currently Managing Director of her own consulting company, Business and Development Solutions.

She is a non-Executive Director of Santam Bank, Murray & Roberts, and Thebe Investments, and sits on the Council for Support of National Defence.

Dr Magau's qualifications and experience include executive leadership, business development, education, human development and human resource management. While a Harvard student, she served on the Board of Harvard Educational Review.

In South Africa, she was the convenor of the National Task Group: Future needs and Priorities for the National Commission on Higher Education, and Human Resource Development Advisor to the Reconstruction & Development Progamme. She also acts as Advisor on women's issues in the office of the State President.
